The total cost of type 2 diabetes rose $71 billion dollars in the last five years, according to the American Diabetes Association. ADA also claims that people with diabetes spend about 2.3 times more on healthcare than people without diabetes.<br /><br />Even worse are the various health troubles that follow a diabetes diagnosis, like foot amputations, kidney failure, blindness, skin problems and dementia.
